Diet Product Recommendations
If I were to be honest, I would admit that I was a little amazed to learn of the many fad diets on the market today.
Through my research, I was equally amazed to learn that I had indeed tried five of the top ten diets on a site I visited at diet-blog.
com.
In this article, I will discuss my experiences and results while on those diets.
Atkins Diet This one had immediate results for me.
However, as the months went on I grew increasingly tired of not eating things like fruits.
Yes, I did loose fifteen pounds but the feeling of deprivation got the best of me.
In addition, I felt I was eating too many greasy foods.
Once I went back to my normal eating the weight returned as it came off.
This goes to tell you that it is better to find something you can stick to for a long time.
Do not recommend Slim Fast According to the Wikipedia, Slim Fast is a diet program consisting of shakes, bars, packaged meals, and other dietary supplement that are sold in many countries.
As I remember it, Slim Fasts' motto is "a shake for breakfast, a shake for lunch, then eat a sensible dinner".
The only part of this plan I tried were the shakes, which I thought were good.
Because I am a person who likes food, the drinks did not really do it for me even though they were filling.
I stayed on this diet for at least 2 weeks before giving up on it.
Do not recommend Weight Watchers The Weight Watchers program is based on a point system.
The more calories a food item has the more points it has.
The great thing I learned from weight watcher is because most fruits and vegetable are considered "free foods" and have no points, I found myself eating more of.
It teaches you valuable lessons on how to eat and I still use a lot of these today.
Do recommend.
American Heart Association Low-Fat Diet I will have to tell you from the start, did not loose a lot of weight on this diet.
Nevertheless, with the American Heart Association diet I did learn some very important information like calculating the amount of fats you eat.
This may not be great for weight loss but I do recommend the site http://americanheart.
org Experts gave this diet a thumbs up because it was thought to reduce the risk of heart disease so I thought I would try it.
I found the ingredients for the meals a bit hard to find.
I quickly lost interest after not losing much weight.
I would recommend this if you need to eat heart smart, just not for weight loss.
I have learned that each of these diets did teach me something, whether it was cutting down on greasy foods or portion control I found that it is always important to do something about your health.
