The winter blues is a term used to describe a form of depression, which people experience during the winter months.
It is also known as seasonal affect disorder.
The winter blues are caused by the significant decrease in the amount of sunshine.
Our bodies become deficient in Vitamin D, and combined with our overall health, it can cause the winter blues.
The good news is that the winter blues are preventable.
First, you need to take care of your body.
Eating heavy, greasy, processed food slows down your digestive system.
This in turn affects the health of your bodies, since the digestive system plays such an important role.
Try increasing the amount of raw fruits and vegetables you eat.
This will give your body a boost in the vitamins and nutrients it needs and they digest quickly and easily.
Add a variety of nuts to your normal diet.
They are high in good fats and protein, and they also digest quickly and easily.
The nuts will also help raise your natural energy levels.
Most people are also deficient in essential fatty acids.
These fatty acids are responsible for helping to transport the Serotonin throughout your body.
Serotonin is a substance your body creates, which naturally makes you feel good.
Finally, get outside as much as you can.
The root cause of the winter blues is the lack of sunshine.
However, if you are spending plenty of time out in the sun while it is up, you will be getting at least some of the Vitamin D your body needs.
If it is just to cold to spend any significant amount of time outside, you can look into purchasing a sun lamp.
They are not the ideal answer, but they are a relatively safe alternative.
The key to preventing the winter blues is keeping your body healthy and working properly.
Create an environment within you, that allows for the easy movement of Serotonin, and get as many vitamins and nutrients as you can.
