Mesa Golfland SunSplash

Mesa Golfland SunSplash is one of three amusement/water parks in the greater Phoenix area. It is owned by Golfland Entertainment Center, Inc., which used to also own Big Surf in Tempe. Before the 2010 summer season, that water park was sold back to its original owners. WaterWorld in Phoenix used to be part of that family of water parks, but it was sold after the 2008 season. Mesa Golfland SunSplash is now their only park in Arizona.

Mesa Golfland SunSplash Tip #1: You can purchase a season pass, good for admission all summer season. If you intend to go several times per year, it makes financial sense!

Thunder Bay at Golfland SunSplash

Thunder Bay is a 450,000 gallon wave pool. Every 10 minutes or so the pool equipment cranks up and sends ever-growing waves to shore. The waves pictured here are still pretty tame. They get bigger!

Mesa Golfland SunSplash Tip #2: No outside rafts or tubes or water toys are allowed at Mesa Golfland SunSplash.

Cauldron, Sidewinder, Master Blaster

Drop four stories into an open bowl, then see how many revolutions you can make; each ride on the Cauldron is a different experience. The Master Blaster is a watery roller coaster. The Sidewinder half pipe, pictured above, is another popular thrill slide at Mesa SunSplash. A steep vertical drop sends you flying down the first wall to the bottom where force sends you up the far wall. Cool! The Storm Rider is a four-person raft slide where riders plummet through a high speed tunnel which propels them into a massive bowl where they swirl around several times.

In 2012 The Revolution two-person raft slide was introduced. Starting from nearly seven-stories, The revolution catapults one or two riders straight down into an open bowl.

You must be at least 48 inches tall to ride on these attractions.

Mesa Golfland SunSplash Tip #3: These three rides are the most popular at the park, so if you are going on a busy day, like a Saturday or Sunday, make sure you get a couple turns on these early in the day. Then go visit the other attractions while the other kids spend their time on some long lines!

Water Slides

There are several classic water slides at Mesa Golfland SunSplash. These slides open every year during Spring Break and throughout the summer. Water slides are included in your regular admission.

Mesa Golfland SunSplash Tip #4: No food, accept water in originally sealed bottles, is allowed to be brought in to Mesa Golfland SunSplash. All food and refreshments must be purchased on the grounds.

Children's Pool

You won't be left out of you have younger kids who don't meet the requirements for the water slides or the more exciting rides. The Children's Pool is for ages 7 and under. There are two soft slides and only 1 foot of water.

Mesa Golfland SunSplash Tip #5: Every pool area at Mesa Golfland SunSplash has lifeguards on duty all the time.

Wet Play Area / Splash Pad

Splash pad, hoses, sprays -- the Carribbean Water Works is a wet play area is for kids under 7 years old. There's also a dry playground for the little ones called Putt's Playland where they can climb and slide. It's in the shade!

Mesa Golfland SunSplash Tip #6: Make sure everyone has a towel, plenty of waterproof sunscreen, and a hat. You can rent a locker for the day.

Lazy River

The 800 foot long Lazy River is appealing to kids and adults alike. Go alone, or with some friends. Relax. There's no rush.

Mesa Golfland SunSplash Tip #7: If you rent a tube, you can keep it for the day. If you don't have your own rental tube at Lazy River, on busier days you'll be asked to take one leisurely trip around and then relinquish your space to the next person on line. If you rented your tube, you can keep going around, and around and around....

Miniature Golf

There are three 18-hole miniature golf courses at Mesa Golfland SunSplash. They are open all year long.

Before you leave the house, why not acquaint yourself with the layout of the park? Then you can head directly for those park features that you think you'll be using the most.

Mesa Golfland SunSplash Tip #8: You can play miniature golf at Mesa Golfland SunSplash all year long.

Both the arcade and laser tag give everyone a bit of a break from the summer sun. The Fastcar Racetrack is outside. All these attractions have an additional charge. An all-day arcade pass is available.

If the adults want some respite from the sun, there are areas to sit and relax, read and enjoy the shade without being too far from the action.

Mesa Golfland SunSplash Tip #9: Some attractions are only open on certain days during certain times of the year, and at certain hours.
