Camping

• Camping is facilitated throughout all of Everglades National Park; however, a permit is required to access the campgrounds and accompanying facilities. Campers have their choice of one of two areas in the park: the front country and the back country. For those looking for lodging while boating throughout the Everglades, the National Park Service has created several Chickees, or floating structures, which can be accessed along the rivers and bays. Campground amenities include restroom facilities with cold-water showers, dump stations, fresh water and fire pits, depending upon the site reserved. Reservations and permits can be acquired through the National Parks Services website.

Redland Hotel

• The historic Redland Hotel resides in the area surrounding Everglades National Park, known as Homestead, and has been in operation since 1904. The Redland Hotel is full of amenities including high-speed Internet, smoke-free rooms, a television and access to the hotel's conference rooms. The Redland is also home to the Downtown Bar and Grill, which offers a wide selection of fresh seafood and healthy choice meals, home style soups, and the famous Angus burger. • Nestled in the base of Everglades National Park, The Grove Inn is an ideal place to stay if camping is not in the cards.
