Top Tips –Best Advice When Attempting To Pressure Wash Concrete

An electric pressure washer can be a real blessing to people who have busy everyday lives. If you need to remove loose grime, paint or dirt from a concrete surface, it may be best to go and rent or buy a pressure washer or even to go and discover some high pressure cleaning Chichester services.

Here below, we give our top tips for using a pressure washer on concrete surfaces.

-Locate a good washer.

Make sure you find a good washer to do the job. Some pressure washers come with different pressure setting that you can adjust. You will also find some with different nozzles. Some are hot and others are cold. Hot water washers are generally only best for cleaning tough concrete stains such as oil or tar. You will also find some pressure washers will allow detergent to be introduced into the pressure stream and others will not.

-Take preparations and make sure everything around the area is clear.

Remember a pressure washer is not your normal garden hose. Make sure the area that you are using the hose to clean is absolutely clear and there are no people around you. Once you are sure of this, then go and switch the washer on.

-Rinse after use, on very low pressure.

Once you have finished cleaning the concrete, always give the area a good once over on a very low pressure setting. This will help to clear the area fully from any dirt, once it has been sprayed using the pump.

-Work each small area, one at a time.

Always concentrate on cleaning one single area to make sure it has been fully cleaned. This will prevent any thin lines of different colours appearing on the surface.

-Don't go too overboard and start spraying everything.

When using a pressure washer, it is always tempting to go and spray everything around you. Be sure to stay away from any flowerbeds nearby or glass windows. Windows can easily be damaged or broken by a high pressure washer, so be careful.

-Wear protection.

Make sure you wear proper hand, eye and foot protection when the device is in use and always keep your arms, hands and feet, well out of the way.
