Early stages of puberty permission slip sent home for a discussion at a 10 year old age level seems a bit early in life to be talking about certain aspects of growing up. I agree to somethings that may be talked about but some seem to be rather earlier then atleast a few years.

Recently my wife recieved a permission slip to allow our daughter in to the classroom whre she goes to school to be a part of learning the early stages of puberty discussion.

Some parents may not care or feel threatenend by this but where we live and the mentality of the children my daughter goes to school with seems a little advanced for her age of 10 years old and she is the only girl in her classroom.

In the early stages i see no serious issues teaching hygiene and the importance of being clean but talking reproductive organs and menstrual cycle seem to far in depth for any child of 10 years old and children are still in there haha funny funny stage and really take nothing more then well nothing from it.

At 10 years old there still in a very fragile state of mind and teaching a young girl or boy these what I consider advanced stages of later teen years seems well out of place. I wasn't real happy when my wife told me about this after the fact of signing and returning the ermission slip to school. I call it trickery some call it nothing big but I still feel as a father my input is just as valuable and necessary in the bringing up of my child.

What are your views and thoughts about teaching a child of 10 years of age the functions of there body about the reproduction system and period stage that females go through. Is this a area that needs held back till atleast 14 years of age or is it better they learn now.
