When I was small my dad was a very keen gardener.
He actually gardened across three gardens because he looked after our garden, my great aunt's and my grandma's.
He was kept very busy at weekends, and during the summer evenings which meant that his fork, spade and other tools came in for heavy use.
And while they may have received the occasional knock, actually using them almost daily kept them in good order.
Once in a while he oiled them to prevent deterioration especially over the winter months but otherwise constant use worked for him.
In fact my sister and I still use his original spade and fork which given he died 25 years ago is a testament to their quality.
Buying or investing in the same high level of quality in your writing tools and using them on a regular basis will repay you in the same way.
