How to Make Her Sweet Sixteen Even Sweeter

I know it is hard to believe, but your baby girl is about to turn 16.
It only seems like yesterday that she took her first steps.
Only a moment ago she was asking for her sippy-cup and now she is about to ask for the car keys.
However, she is still your little girl.
That will never change.
Sixteen is a very exciting time for a young girl.
Her sixteenth birthday may be the most exciting of her life.
Believe it or not, the princess party theme is still one of the most popular and versatile themes.
Here are a few things to consider when you are planning for this special birthday.
1.
Remember that she is 16, not 6 - Even though your little girl is probably too old to be interested in Disney princess movies, she still probably likes to be treated like a princess.
No girl is too old for a princess theme.
Everyone loves to be pampered and treated like royalty.
However, don't do the decorations as if she were in kindergarten.
Instead think about how a teenage princess would like to be treated.
Go extravagant with the decorations.
Think ballroom and palaces not Oriental Trading Company when you decorate.
Think about pink ostrich feather centerpieces, not cheap plastic tiaras.
She wants to be treated as if she were grown up, not like a little girl.
2.
Don't be too cheap on the decorations - Don't get me wrong here.
I know that we are in a recession and that times are hard.
I am not telling you to go out and spend her college fund.
I am just saying to look around for better deals instead of settling for the cheapest thing you see.
She will only be sixteen once.
You want to make it as special as possible.
Look for companies that sell at wholesale prices.
You may be surprised at what you can afford.
Set your budget and stick to it.
Just don't assume that something won't fit your budget.
With anything that you buy in bulk, think wholesale even with higher end items like ostrich feathers and vases.
3.
Rent a limousine - Get a limousine to drive her around and pick up a few of her closest friends.
Tell her not to tell her friends about it, but to simply tell them that her parents will pick them up.
They will be so surprised when the limo pulls up at their front door.
She will impress her friends and you will impress her.
She will never forget it.
4.
Bring in a dance instructor - Most dance instructors can teach a wide variety of styles from ballroom to hip-hop.
Go with whatever your daughter and her friends are into.
This will kill several birds with one stone.
First of all, everyone will have fun and think that it is a great idea.
Also, the kids who don't know how to dance can learn along with everyone else.
Finally, it will be chaperoned dancing and the kids won't even notice that it is chaperoned.
