Social Media Uses Blogs for Boost

103 5
An old news story written by BusinessWeek more than five years ago discussed the use of blogs to boost your business.
The blogs would increase your exposure and, if done well, could cause a small explosion of sorts to occur and drive business your way.
What has happened since they wrote that article is epic.
It's amazing how social media has skyrocketed since it was first introduced.
Since the advent of Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn and others this exact same article has been attached to pages, tweeted and retweeted, and shared in so many ways that BusinessWeek's head is spinning.
The story is still circulating and being spread throughout cyber land.
They're now looking for new ways to rewrite the story and republish it with updated information.
They have literally had to add in more current information for those who are reading for the first time or are indeed reading it over again.
The story actually speaks of the power of blogging for the building of your business online.
All businesses at this point in time need to have some sort of blog activity, whether it's in the form of a user forum where customers can talk to each other.
You can have a company rep monitor it so you get to put in your two cents where appropriate and to head off any conversations that go south.
We've all seen that happen in the comments sections.
This discussion is about cell phone service and 17 comments down the line the discussion has deteriorated into a political discussion with lots of mudslinging.
An overseer can take care of that.
Moderate the conversation or smooth ruffled feathers and bring the discussion back to center.
Answer questions for customers that may be confused about one of your products, or don't know how to activate their new broadband card.
Add articles, or blog posts, that give tips and ideas about your products.
You can provide a place for discussion about your products, or your services, and the creative ways in which people use them even if you have never considered it to be a possibility.
Your customers, clients, or potential users can see an interesting item on your website or in your blog.
They can take their favorite stories or blog posts from your company blog and tweet them to their friends or business associates.
This is a critical way to spread your news.
It's absolutely genius.
The potential is many fold.
