Recently i went out on a shopping spree and was actually amazed by the sheer variety of plasma television sets on display at the various electronic shops lining up the street.
The manufacturers of these sets are also as many.
Back in the nineteen sixties, we were only used to brand names likeSony just to mention one.
Today, we have seen the proliferation of hundreds of brand names and imitations from Asia and sometimes even Europe.
These companies are using state of the art technologies to produce artistic looking designs which are interesting to behold.
The Plasma television is slowly becoming the natural choice of would be buyers.
Their presentation is crystal clear, their sound is unmatched and their shape is appealing to the eye.
Watching the film "the gods must be crazy" on a forty two inch flat panel liquid crystal display television feels like you are part of the characters.
The difference between plasma television and the old black and white television looks like two centuries, yet the two technologies are only two generations apart.
Today, young people are being hooked on the television for more hours than ever before and junk food is selling faster than ever.
The cathode electron beam tube television sets that we were used to has a lot of limitations in terms of size, picture quality, feel and even weight, calling for better designs that meet modern standards.
The Plasma Television is made using a kind of atomic technology, designed and presented in a way that makes our viewing experience a memorable one.
The name plasma television basically originates from the naturally occurring plasma gas.
An electric charge is passed through this gas, which in the process produces an illumination which is exploited to produce an image in the three basic colors, that is red, yellow and blue.
Varying the intensity and direction of these illumination produces a host of color changes making the viewing enjoyable and also pleasurable.
Today, the plasm television can be made as wide as your imagination can be, and so thin as to be screwed comfortably on the wall.
It would be important at this point to note that, although plasma television reverses most of the disadvantages of the cathode electron beam tube television sets, its cost is prohibitively high, well beyond the common mans means though all is not lost yet.
But as long as size, weight and space are not compromised, the cost may not be such a big issue though.
This is part of the reason why one should embrace the plasma televisions as a preferred form of entertainment.
What could be more entertaining than watching your favorite movie, cartoon or game on plasma television? It makes my heart beat a little bit faster with the thought of watching my favorite teams on this kind of screen.
I consider it entertainment galore! I used to spend boring weekends for months on end till only recently when i was lucky to acquire my own forty two inches of portrait in my living room.
