Dieting has a negative image.
For some people it means being hungry all day long.
In the beginning they are motivated to lose weight so this is attainable.

Luckily dieting in this negative sense is not an option to lose weight.
The term "dieting" should be replaced by "eating the right foods".
Eating the right foods is a lifestyle change.

You also need to be able to overcome a lot of resistance that is a natural reaction to changing old habits.
Basically consuming fewer calories can be achieved in two different ways: by eating less of your favorite, usual foods and feel hungry all day long or by replacing your favorite foods that caused your weight gain with healthier alternatives that have fewer calories so you don't need to cut the amount of food you eat - just the caloric intake.
For example, if you replace a fast-food restaurant sandwich with a home-made fish, served with steamed vegetables you will not feel hungry, will consume fewer calories and it is also a healthier alternative.
If you just eat half of the fast-food sandwich you will still be hungry and will crave more junk food all day long.
Besides the point that this is not a sustainable weight loss technique, it also doesn't contribute to your health.
Consuming healthier food that contains fewer calories is one of the steps to healthy weight loss.
Other steps are exercise, detoxification, cultivation of positive thinking and a positive self-image.
All of them work together in synergy to ensure a healthy weight loss and weight maintenance.
