Nicole begs Brady not to abandon her, insisting that she needs him. Brady assures Nicole that he’ll stand by and help her out any way he can. Nicole insists that she has to get out of Salem now. Otherwise, Sydney will be taken away from her and she’ll wind up in prison. Brady tries to assure her that she won’t go to prison, but he can’t just whisk her away to some fantasy world and live happily ever after.
Nicole accuses him of not really loving her, but he states otherwise, then admits that he’s involved with someone else. Nicole is devastated to hear this. Brady offers to help her with whatever she needs. She gets angry and refuses his help. “My life is over and it’s all your fault!” she shouts before storming out of the mansion.
University Hospital
E.J. visits an unconscious Stefano and encourages his father to get better and rest. He takes Stefano’s hand and assures him that his family loves him, including Johnny, Lexie, Nicole, and Sydney. After E.J. walks out, Stefano’s hand moves.
Meanwhile, Carly steals medication, then opens the door to see Bo talking to Maxine. Carly sneaks away when she sees Bo pick up Theo and hug him. Lexie smiles that Theo just got out of his after school daycare and was mainstreamed into an elementary school. Bo asks how Stefano’s doing, and Lexie says he’s stable but not responding the way he should.
Carly continues to hide as Bo is on the phone. Lexie later tells Bo that Theo is on his way home with his daddy.
Bo says he needs to get over to Ma’s and pick up Ciara. Lexie smiles that pretty soon the boys will start coming around, but Bo jokes how Ciara won’t be allowed to date until she’s about 31 or 32. Lexie jokingly reminds Bo that since he’s the police commissioner, he can arrest a boy who disobeys that order. Carly is relieved to hear that her old flame is a police commissioner. A staff member touches her on the shoulder. He apologizes, thinking she was another doctor. She tells him not to worry about it and walks off, covering her face and walking right past Maggie before getting on the elevator. Maggie has a suspicious look on her face and tries to follow Carly, but the elevator doors close.
Lexie advises Bo to try counseling with Hope. Maggie interrupts and asks Lexie what other female doctors are working on the floor tonight. Lexie confirms that she’s the only one, and the rest of the doctors are male. Maggie recalls how she just saw a woman get on the elevator who seemed so familiar.
A despondent Lexie sits by Stefano’s bedside and insists that he can’t leave them. She begins to see signs of life in Stefano, feels his pulse, and calls out his name.
Nearby, Maggie tells Bo there are a lot of folks in Salem who would like to help out the police department. Maxine approaches them and reveals that there are drugs missing from the medicine cabinet and the locks are broken. Bo asks if she knows what kind of drugs were taken. Maxine confirms that they were antibiotics.
Brady Pub
Victor arrives at the pub and walks over to the bar to Arianna, who asks what she can get him. “How about some cocaine? Just a little joke,” he responds. Arianna nervously tells him not to quit his day job. Victor questions if she’s managing to juggle the two jobs she has. She hopes he hasn’t said anything. He tells her not to worry, as he’s a man who keeps his word. He asks Arianna, however, if she keeps her word.
Arianna later brings Victor coffee. He reiterates his previous question, asking if she’s kept her word and kept her distance from Brady. She says she doesn’t want Brady to know what she’s doing, since it would hurt him. Outside the pub, Victor phones someone, insisting that they need to talk.
Arianna is later on the phone with Troy, reminding him to tell her when the shipment comes in. Brady walks in, and she reminds him that they agreed to keep things private. They agree to meet at the pier soon.
Mary brings Sydney outside the pub and meets Nicole. She expresses concern for Nicole and for what happened. Nicole tries to assure Mary that everything will work out fine and thanks her for bringing Sydney. Nicole holds Sydney close and assures her that Mommy will never let anyone take her away.
Nicole later phones Chloe and asks her to call when she gets the message. Sami approaches a crying Nicole and assures her that she’ll help her.
Victor and E.J.
Victor comes to the DiMera mansion and thanks E.J. for seeing him. E.J. warns him not to gloat about Nicole. He tells E.J. to be thankful for small favors. “At least she didn’t try and murder you,” adds Victor. E.J. is in no mood for Victor’s remarks. Victor confirms that he’s there to discuss Stefano, but it’s strictly business.
Victor reminds E.J. of the truce their families made and how certain businesses would be split evenly. He proposes selling the Kiriakis half of one of the operations. He assures E.J. that reliable shipments arrive weekly, the dealers are all set to accept delivery, and there are no books. E.J. wonders what the catch is. Victor claims there’s no catch, and Philip has decided he’s no longer interested in working that side of the business. Besides, with everything that’s going on in E.J.’s life, he could probably use the distraction.
Victor assures E.J. that he’s a man of his word and the business is doing very well. E.J. agrees to do some research to ensure that there are no unpleasant surprises, then will let Victor know what he decides.
Elsewhere
Carly returns to Omar’s boat and asks how the patient is. Omar says Rafe is still delirious and was talking about a baby. Carly prepares to administer the medicine to Rafe. Omar asks if anyone at the hospital recognized her, then realizes Carly ran into someone she knew.
Brady and Arianna meet on the pier, where she apologizes for having to keep things secret between them. Brady says it’s okay, especially considering what he had to deal with earlier. He wonders what’s going on with Arianna, noting that she didn’t seem fine at the pub. She asks if they can just make it all about the two of them right now. Brady agrees to do that and tells her how good she looks. They share a kiss.
