How to Add a Direct Jet Card to the LaserJet 4+
- 1). Locate the cover to the network card compartment on the LaserJet 4+. The cover is located on the left side of the printer as you face it, near the top of the unit.
- 2). Loosen the thumbscrews that hold the cover in place. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to turn the screws if they will not turn by hand. Lift the cover off and set it aside.
- 3). Remove the Jet Direct card from its anti-static bag and grasp it by the handle. Slide the card into the printer until you feel it snap into place. The Jet Direct card is designed to go into the printer only one way, so turn the card around if you cannot push it in all the way.
- 4). Tighten the thumbscrews to fasten the Jet Direct card in place. Attach one end of the network cable to the Jet Direct card and the other end to the network connection on the wall.
