Boston Harborfest usually begins several days before the 4th of July. For 2015, the dates for the 34th annual Boston Harborfest are Wednesday through Sunday, July 1-5.
What Are the Highlights of Boston Harborfest?
Boston Harborfest features a variety of historic tours, concerts, Revolutionary-era reenactments and children's activities. Highlights of the annual event include a rare chance to see the USS Constitution below the water line in dry-dock (July 1-7), Rock the Fort on Georges Island, tall ship cruises, a dramatic reading of the Declaration of Independence at the Old North Church on July 4 and the 4th of July fireworks over the Charles River, accompanied by the Boston Pops. The annual Chowderfest will not be held in 2015.

For the third time in more than 20 years, the show will not be broadcast on national TV, although it can be tuned in locally in Boston on CBS affiliate WBZ. The Boston Harborfest information booth is located at City Hall Plaza, where many of Harborfest's main events also take place, so this is a good central location from which to set out on foot or via the "T," Boston's subway, to enjoy the variety of Harborfest happenings.
