Jekyll and Hyde's

• Jekyll and Hyde's, located on the Avenue of the Americas in the neighborhood which saw the beginning of the gay rights movement in Manhattan, is a restaurant with a geeky twist. The restaurant serves American food such as burgers, sandwiches and pizza. The food is average and costs in the mid-range, but the clientele come to the restaurant for its atmosphere. Jekyll and Hyde's is designed to give patrons a sort of haunted-house feel; the bathroom doors, for example, blend into the walls for a hidden-passage experience. The waiters speak quite loudly and poke fun with customers, while a sphinx on the wall tells riddles and challenges patrons to solve them.
  
  

The Chocolate Bar

• The Chocolate Bar is a chocolate lover's paradise. Located in the West Village, the Chocolate Bar serves the treat in all of its forms. Women who appreciate good chocolate can duck into the place to enjoy truffles, brownies, bon bons or chocolate bars. On a winter day, the Chocolate Bar is the perfect place to chat over a cup of hot chocolate. The place also sells T-shirts in orange and brown with slogans such as "chocolate girl."
  
  

Museum of Modern Art

• Sophisticated women looking for an outing that challenges the intellect and the artistic senses can visit the Museum of Modern Art, also known as MOMA. The museum is divided into sections focusing on different genres of modern art, as well as modern art from various countries or continents. Famous paintings such as Vincent Van Gogh's "Starry Night" also hang in the museum. Normally, tickets cost money, but for a few hours on Friday evening, tickets to the museum are free. Washington Square Park

• Women looking to get together somewhere outdoors on a warm spring day can get together in Washington Square Park. Located in the center of Greenwich Village at Fifth Avenue, Waverly Place, West 4th and MacDougal Street, Washington Square Park is a hangout for hippies, artists and performers. Groups of women can purchase coffee from any nearby coffee shop and sit in the park with it. Women can also seek out a street performance to watch or a chess game to observe.
