The varied world of music, theater and dance is vibrant and waiting to be explored, while many of us are sitting in front of our TVs.
It is time to get out and get inspired! You would be amazed at how many hours musicians, actors, and dancers spend perfecting their craft.
Just watching them will make you get re-connected and energized to pursue your own passions.
This will not an expensive excursion, either.
Make of the local theaters have good productions of famous, as well as not-so-well known plays at very affordable prices.
Symphonies and ballets often have matinees or community performances which you can attend at a fraction of the price.
Don't talk yourself out of taking sometime to relax.
It is really quite astounding at how much better you feel and ready you are to work after getting all those positive endorphins running through your body.
You may think you don't have the time, but when you are stressed and worn-out, you actually are wasting a lot of time by working slower and making more mistakes.
Taking time off, and having a good laugh actually allows you to work faster, and gives you more free time Not only will you be enjoying your self, relaxing and recharging your body, but you are supporting the hardworking artists in your community.
An unfortunate thing about or society's current attitude toward entertainment is that it tends to be somewhat of a "microwave" or manufactured approach.
Although going to the movies or playing video games are cheap and easy ways to entertain yourself, those do not value human expression and the diligence of perfecting one's craft as the performing arts do.
You will also have a deeper level of quality family time when you go to a play or concert together.
These activities are shown to relax the tension in brain waves and muscles, whereas video games tend to make people more wound-up.
You will find that you and your family can have a wonderful, intelligent conversation after the performance about the actors, themes within the plot and lessons learned from the characters in the production.
There is also an emotional need that can be met at these plays.
You are not only connecting with the performers, your community and your family during these artistic activities, but reaching a deeper part of the human emotional expression.
