Gambling is a huge money-making industry, pulling in over $60 billion a year. Cheaters will always be lurking, and the latest technology has made cheating more challenging to get away with. There are some subtle signs someone may be cheating at the Casino.

Excessive Touching

When a poker player is constantly touching their arms and tugging at their long sleeves, it may be severe case of eczema; but more likely they are adjusting a tiny camera or holdout device. A device to hide cards up one's sleeve is a scam mostly used at the poker tables. A camera, an accomplice and an earpiece are used at the blackjack and baccarat tables to cheat the House.

Card Marking

Card marking certainly gives a player a winning advantage, but it is cheating. Cards can be €marked€ by bending a corner, making a crease in a card with a poker chip or scratching the surface to remove some colored ink. Card marking can be done before the game starts or while the game is in progress.

Distracted by Beauty

When sitting at a table, be aware of who is seated to your right and left. The gorgeous girl with the low cut blouse and flirty eyes can snag your attention, while her partner (seated on your opposite side) will be snatching a chip or two from your pile.

Signaling

€Collusion€ is a common cheating practice by a group of players, they will strategically sit at tables to view the dealer and signal to the player at that table. Dealers will keep their hand close to the table to avoid eyes, from afar, viewing their cards.

Camouflage Cheating

A good team of cheaters will create a diversion for the floor pit bosses to focus on, while the remaining team will hit the true destination of their cheating attack.

Slots and Bills

New technology makes it extremely difficult to manipulate slot machines. But finding someone at an older machine may indicate that they have been using a coin, string and paperclips to play the €one armed bandits€ for an extended period of time using the same coin.

A bill validator has been manipulated to read $100 in credits when a specialized $1 bill is inserted. Updated machines will not be so easily tricked, so older machines will be the target of these casino thieves.

Cashing out

If a casino misses a cheater at the tables, they hope to catch them at the cashing cage. If the cheater used $1,000 chips all evening, the security would be on high alert for these chips. To avoid being caught, a thief will go to different tables and get smaller denominations or cash out when the staff changes shifts or the next day.
