The chemicals and sugar in soda are really bad for your body and if you don't cut soda while you are dieting you will make it a lot harder on yourself.
Another note is that you need to stay away from diet soda as well.

  Eat more veggies.
You may not be eating any veggies at all right now, but you should start.
Whatever you need to do to make them tolerable or enjoyable.
Do it.
Just don't boil them because that cuts all the nutrition out.
Steam them lightly or eat them with natural peanut butter (to avoid trans fat).

Start with using effective plans that others have created.
You also need to get on a regular exercise schedule.
  I recommend either walking briskly or running every morning.
If you schedule your exercise every day, especially in the morning, you will be more consistent and get better results.
If you think you can't make time to exercise, not even a little, then you probably won't be able to lose much weight at all.
It's that simple.
If you don't have an open block of time, you will have to make time.
  Getting a flat stomach will become easier after you have been on a diet for about a month or so, especially if you have been keeping track of your progress every day.
One way of doing this is using a scale to weigh yourself every day.
