How to Write a Letter to the Chamber of Commerce to Request Information

    • 1). Begin your letter by typing your address, without your name, flush to the left. This is important because without it the chamber of commerce can't send you information.

    • 2). Skip a space, and type the date. Then, skip another space.

    • 3). Type the chamber's name and address. Skip a space.

    • 4). Begin your letter by typing "Dear Chamber of Commerce:" or, "Dear Sir or Madam:"

    • 5). Start the letter by immediately requesting the information that you seek. If you have seen the website, refer to that fact and mention what information was missing. This will prevent them from simply referring you to the website, and it will give valuable feedback to their webmaster for the next revision of the site.

    • 6). Provide the name and mailing address for the information if it is different from your inside address on the letter.

    • 7). Write a concluding paragraph that thanks them for their time and gives additional contact information, such as an email address or telephone number.

    • 8). Type "Sincerely," and skip three line spaces. Type your full name. Then, print the letter and sign above your name in blue or black ink.
