Norton Internet Security

• Norton Internet Security will automatically scan for viruses on a regular basis. Norton Internet Security also contains a feature which allows its users to schedule the time of each automatic system scan. Users can access the scan settings by opening their Norton Internet Security Program, choosing the "Settings" tab, clicking on the "Computer Settings" option, the "Computer Scan" selection and subsequently selecting the "Configure" selection.
  
  The user should set the regular scan for a time when the computer is likely to be turned on. However, the user should avoid scheduling the scan for a time when the computer is in use. The scan does use the computer's resources and could slow down the computer's performance when it is needed by the user.
  
  

Norton Anti-Virus

• In Norton Anti-Virus, you can set up how often the program automatically runs a scan on your system. The program will perform a full system scan once a week by default at a time when the computer is idle. You may schedule a daily system scan by clicking on the "Scan Now" option from the main window. Then, choose the "Custom Scan" option and the "Full System Scan" button. On the right you will be given an option to select the "Schedule" selection. Choose this and set the schedule to your desired setting.
  
  

Norton 360

• Norton 360 does not require the user to set any settings in order for it to perform a scan. If Norton 360 detects a virus it can automatically take action. You can schedule task by opening the "Settings" page.
