Invest in in-car tech to keep car journeys fun

If you want to keep both your passengers and yourself entertained when taking long car journeys you should look into buying some new in-car tech, which can include a wide range of technologies.

If you enjoy listening to music maybe it's time to upgrade your old speaker system to something a bit snazzier, but that doesn't necessarily mean you'll need to spend hundreds of pounds. If you have a look online and do your research you could find a new pair of in-car speakers for next to nothing, although if you want the best there are incredibly fancy surround sound speakers available for a couple of hundred pounds.

Of course, unless you want to be listening to the radio all through your car trip you'll need to buy a CD player. There are a hundred and one CD player brands for you to choose from, some of which are very well known while others have been little heard of. Whichever you choose though, you should pay attention to the additional features that they come with.

If you want to be able to listen to your MP3 player or iPod through your CD player you should buy one with an MP3 or iPod connection. This usually comes by way of a small socket that you can plug your player into with the use of an included lead.

For the ultimate in-car entertainment you should purchase a tablet DVD player, which your passengers will be able to watch films on during the journey. These can be especially useful if you're travelling with young children that get restless easily, as you'll be able to keep them busy throughout the car ride.

You can get both portable DVD players and mounted ones that attach to the back of the front seat headrests, so those in the backseats can watch them. They can be detached when exiting the car though, so there's no risk of theft as long as you remove them from the vehicle.

The gadgets don't stop there though €" nowadays, you can get parking cameras and sensors that can be attached to the rear number plate to assist when parking your car. You can wire your camera up to a compatible monitor to get a clear video image of your parking.

If you do a lot of driving you should probably get yourself a hands free kit, which you can use to talk on the phone while driving. They are available in a number of designs and are incredibly easy to use.
