The Best Way to Help Someone With Breast Cancer

I'm sure most, if not all of us have had someone close to us diagnosed with breast cancer.
Many of us have watched that person go through round after round of chemotherapy.
Many of us have watched as their bodies were forever surgically altered.
Many of us have watched them lose their battle and pass away.
Whatever your experience may be, one thing is certain.
Trying to find the right way to help someone with breast cancer can be tough.
I'll fully admit that there are no right or wrong answers here.
It will largely depend on the patient themselves; their personality, their demeanor.
So, there will be some trial and error involved in your quest to make their situation more comfortable, but here are a few things that have worked for me in the past and are still working to this day: 1) Patience - I should call this extreme patience, because often times extreme patience is exactly what is required.
When someone is having toxic chemicals pumped into their body, or are preparing for surgery, they aren't always going to be themselves.
They may snap.
They may cry.
They may do any number of things you aren't used to that might normally offend you.
Just be patient.
Try and put yourself in their shoes and just be there.
2)Support - Obviously, patience is a big part of being supportive, but there are other elements as well.
Sometimes, the person you love so much who has been told they have breast cancer will choose a treatment path you don't necessarily agree with.
They may decide to turn their back on conventional treatment for a more natural approach.
Or you may feel like natural treatments are the way to go and they may not want to go against what their doctor has told them.
Either way, it is up to you to respect their wishes and support them.
This is the most difficult time of their life so far, and a solid support system will make it that much easier.
3) Education - This is one I have found particularly useful in my life.
Learn everything you can about breast cancer, breast cancer treatment, and especially natural breast cancer remedies.
The reason for this is because more than likely your friend or mother or sister is going to choose conventional cancer treatment.
That means chemotherapy and / or radiation.
Both of these treatments are highly toxic to the body.
They may end up killing the cancer, but they'll do a lot of other damage as well.
Once the treatments are done, I've found it wonderfully helpful to have a wealth of knowledge and natural remedies to offer that will help bring her body back to health.
It's kind of like an insurance policy on top of the treatment she's already received.
You can find lots different information on natural breast cancer remedies and treatments on the web.
Just be sure to maintain your support if she chooses chemo or radiation.
The more you read about natural options the more you'll think she should use them, but support is the main thing.
As long as you're there after the fact with all the info.
she needs, everything will be okay.
