ARC Cancer Treatment
- There are currently two ARC centres, the first was founded in 1994, and is situated in the heart of Dublin. Work on a second ARC centre was completed at the end of 2002. The second centre is situated in Cork, Ireland.
- The treatments available at ARC are not designed to cure cancer but to support the patient during conventional treatment. Therapies include reflexology, therapeutic massage, yoga and a variety of relaxation aids.
- Other services consist of drop-in areas—which patients are free to use without making an appointment—cancer counseling and meditation sessions.
- There are a variety of courses from which to choose, including stress management, cancer-specific workshops, a natural beauty workshop and creativity courses.
- All services and therapies provided by ARC are free.
- Funding for ARC is provided by the UK Health and Safety Executive and charitable donations. The ARC centres also organize a number of sponsored activities and events to raise funds.
