How Can I Thicken Mashed Potatoes That Are Too Creamy?
- 1). Return the mashed potatoes to a saucepan. Place the mashed potatoes on the stovetop over medium heat.
- 2). Add 1 tbsp. of instant potato flakes to the prepared mashed potatoes once the mixture heats thoroughly.
- 3). Stir the potatoes vigorously and frequently after you add the potato flakes. Mix the potato flakes well into the prepared mashed potatoes.
- 4). Allow the mashed potatoes to thicken for 2 to 3 minutes. Remove them from the stovetop once they thicken and fluff them with a fork. If they do not thicken, add 1 tbsp. of potato flakes and stir them vigorously again. Repeat until the mashed potatoes reach the consistency that you prefer.
