When you're growing up you naturally look up to your parents.
They are your first role models, so when they are upset you quickly pick up on it.
Children are strongly influenced by their parents' moods.
Knowing, this parents, must be mindful of how they behave.
Children are always watching their parents and using their actions as a guide for how they should behave.
When parents are happy and show it, their children are usually happy, too.
Research has show that many adults wish their parents had been happier when they were growing up.
They said it dramatically impacted their lives then and now.
Surprisingly, those same adults often forget that wish when becoming parents themselves.
They find that they fall into the same traps as their parents and let their children know when they're feeling anxious, angry, depressed or frustrated.
They may not even realize they're doing it.
Being a good parent, means trying to be as happy as you can for your children.
This is important for ourselves but also because of how intuitive children are.
If our children perceive us as happy, healthy people, they will act that way, as well.
To be a successful parent, you have to think about the example you are setting to your children.
It's not enough to simply pay the bills and keep them healthy.
They also need to feel that their parents are stable and emotionally secure.
Don't think that you can hide your unhappiness from your children.
They are more perceptive than you would think.
Much of their emotional well-being is in your hands.
Do your best to be strong for them.
Rid yourself of negativity and keep a positive outlook on life.
Achieving inner happiness and emotional strength is something to continually strive for.
It will make you happier and your children, as well.
It will help you raise children that are well-adjusted and content.
