How to Treat Mange in a Pregnant Dog
- 1). Create your own medicated wash for your dog by mixing 1% hydrogen peroxide solution with borax powder and water. Warm 4 cups of water, then mix in 50 cc of hydrogen peroxide and 1 to 2 tablespoons of borax powder. Allow the mixture to cool.
- 2). Pour your medicated wash over your pregnant dog, focusing on the areas that have mange and mite infestations. Don't wash the mixture off; allow it to dry on the dog. Repeat this process once a week until the mange disappears.
- 3). Treat your dog's skin irritation and discomfort with secondary applications of cooking oil. Put a couple drops of cooking oil on the mange areas and rub it in to relieve itching, soften scabs and suffocate mites. Repeat twice a week.
