How to Rent a Car for Prom
- 1). Find out how many couples will go with you as a group. Don't pick more than a total of four couples unless you want to spring for a larger limousine. This is important because it can help cut the costs. Each couple should contribute equally. It is customary that the men pay for this service, but you can allow a girl to chip in if they want to. Just don't make it a requirement as that would be bad manners.
- 2). Decide how long you will need the limo for. This is important to know ahead of time as most limo drivers charge by the hour. Your group will have to decide if they can meet at one central location and go from there or do they need the driver to pick them up separately. You will also need to decide if you are going straight home after the prom or to another location. Estimate your total hours before making a reservation.
- 3). Check out at least three limo companies. You want to visit their location and fully inspect the limos. Price is not everything. You may get a low price from one company and find out that their limo is a piece of junk. That would ruin your whole prom night. After you inspect the limos and speak to the drivers you will be better able to make a decision.
- 4). Make reservations as early as possible. All of your friends are going to be wanting to rent limos too and there won't be enough to go around. Choose someone in your group who is known for having good organizational skills and assign them this task.
- 5). Call a few days ahead of time to make sure everything is on schedule. You don't want the company to make a mistake and forget to pick you all up on prom night.
- 6). Collect the money from each couple and pay the driver. To avoid any confusion you may want to collect the money ahead of time. Have some extra money available for tips. The tip should be based on the driver's promptness, friendliness and overall ability to accommodate your needs.
