How to Lower Salt-Sodium Intake For People Who Have High Blood Pressure

We all know that people who have high blood pressure should reduce their sodium intake.
However, this is easier said than done.
From my experience, lots of people don't know how to start reducing salt or sodium in their diet.
Today, I am going to tell you tips and techniques how you can lower your salt/sodium intake easily and effectively.
1.
You need to know how to read food label on the food packaging.
So you will know how to choose food low in salt.
If the % daily value for sodium is 5 or less, the food is considered low in sodium and you should keep maintain the food with a % daily value for sodium of 5 or less as often as possible.
2.
Look for product that say "sodium free", "very low sodium"," low sodium", "light in sodium", "reduced or less sodium" or "unsalted".
3.
Buy fresh or plain frozen vegetables, use fresh poultry, fish and lean meat rather than canned or process version.
4.
Use herbs, spices and salt-free seasoning blends in cooking.
5.
Cook rice, pasta, and hot cereals without salt (or less salth as you can) 6.
Remove the saltshaker from the dining table.
7.
Learn how to cook food with less salt in order to keep down the sodium in your diet.
Please bear in mind that after reducing the salt in your diet, you may initially find that food tastes bland.
However, you will get used to it later on and will enjoy the food tasted in its natural form.
