Good Ways to Make Money in RuneScape
- "RuneScape" refers to itself as "the no. 1 free online multiplayer game." It is a vast role-playing game with both free and pay worlds, and even the free worlds are advertised to have over 15,000 hours of game play. This game provides many ways to earn money, called gp, which you'll need to buy armor, supplies and anything else you may want.
- Early on, before you've developed your skills, you'll need to rely on simpler methods to make money. One of the easiest is killing chickens. They don't take long to kill, because they have low hit points, and you can collect their feathers afterward and sell these for a small profit. It also behooves you when new in the game to pick up any dropped items you come across and sell them to shops or other players. Mining--especially for runes--and woodcutting can also be good ways to make yourself money early on.
- Catching fish is a relatively easy skill. It will take you a while to get your character to a high enough fishing level to catch the truly valuable fish, but even when you're still gaining skill, you can sell your fish for a reasonable profit. Not to mention that these are also valuable as a food source, if you intend to be doing any fighting.
- Thieving can be lucrative once you've put in the work and gotten yourself to a higher level of thieving skill (20+). Start by pickpocketing, and eventually you'll be able to move up to more profitable stealing options, like pilfering from market stalls and disarming trapped treasure chests to get the loot within. Thieving is a members-only skill, so if you are playing in the free worlds, this isn't an option.
- If someone wants a product badly enough, you can get more for it than you might in a shop. It helps to know roughly what your item is worth, because trading with other players can be just as harmful as it is helpful, if you find someone who scams you by convincing you to give him a valuable item for hardly any gp.
- Even a normally valuable item can become nearly worthless if a shop has just been sold a large supply. Selling firewood to a shop right near a forest isn't going to earn you as much gp as taking your firewood on a bit of a walk to a shop that is farther away. Same goes for selling lobster on an island as opposed to far inland.
