    Install Safety Lock

    • 1). Squeeze the top and bottom buttons of the square locking piece to slide it up and down the "teeth" of the lock.

    • 2). Open the lock completely, so you can slide the straight piece of the lock into the cabinet handles.

    • 3). Squeeze the lock buttons to tighten the safety lock in place. Once the lock is tightened, you should not be able to completely open the doors to your cabinet.

    • 4). To remove the safety lock, squeeze down on the top and bottom buttons of the square locking piece. Slide it down the teeth of the lock. Remove the safety lock by sliding it out of the cabinet handles. Remember to reinstall the safety lock each time you gain access to your cabinet.

    Install Safety Latch and Catch

    • 1). Install a safety latch if you do not have handles on your cabinets. Position the latch on the inside top of the cabinet door, closest to the side where the door opens. Hold the latch in place and use a pen to mark the hole where you will place the screw. Remove the latch.

    • 2). Drill a small hole in the area that you marked with the pen to help with installation. Place the latch back onto the cabinet door and position your screw in the hole you drilled. Tighten the screw in place with the drill.

    • 3). Put the double-sided tape that was included in your packaging on the back of the catch. This tape is used to help you in positioning the catch in the correct spot; it is not meant to replace the need for drilling the catch. Position the catch on the area of the cabinet where the latch will lock into it. This is where the double-sided tape is useful so you can move the catch as many times as needed.

    • 4). With the catch in its correct position, use a pen to mark the holes where you will place the screws. Remove the catch, along with double-sided tape. Drill a small hole into each area that you marked with the pen.

    • 5). Place the catch on the cabinet and position a screw in a corresponding hole you drilled. Tighten the screw in place with the drill. Repeat for any additional screws.
