    • 1). Make sure your Norton subscription is up-to-date. Norton requires you to pay an annual license to use its products. Check the expiration date of your Norton subscription by starting the Symantec client, then clicking on the "Help" menu at the top of the page. Click on "About" for your expiration date.

    • 2). Try a manual update. Use Internet Explorer to download the latest version of LiveUpdate from the Symantec website. Install the new version and reboot your computer to see if LiveUpdate is now working.

    • 3). Uninstall your Symantec products, then reinstall them. Files often become corrupted as they're updated, and a clean installation can replace them.
