S.O.S. Flashback Information

Flashback Character: Rose
Flashback Highlights:Rose's car is stuck in the snow and Bernard helps to get it out. She asks if she can buy him a cup of coffee.
After knowing each other for five months, Bernard asks Rose to marry him.


She says that she is dying. She's been in remission for a couple of years, but now it's back and this time it's not going away. She has about a year to live. He wants to marry her anyway and she agrees.

For their honeymoon, Bernard takes Rose to a little village in the Australian Outback to a faith healer. Rose is upset because she's made her peace with her situation, but Bernard asks her to do it for him. Rose meets with the healer, Isaac of Uluru, who tries to heal her but can't. He says there are different energies in different places and this isn't the place for her. He offers to give her the deposit back, but she declines and tells him that she is going to tell Bernard that he healed her.

At the airport, Rose sits alone and drops one of her pill bottles. Locke comes along in his wheelchair and picks it up and gives it to her.

S.O.S. Island Highlights:

Bernard gets a bunch of people together to build an S.O.S. sign in the sand, but he doesn't treat people very nicely and before too long he is doing the work by himself.

He doesn't understand why Rose isn't helping him. She tells him that the faith healer didn't cure her, but that the island has and she doesn't want to leave. He stops building the sign and says they will never leave.
Locke tries to recreate the diagram he saw on the blast door. He tries several times, but gets very frustrated. He asks non-Henry if he really entered the numbers during the lockdown. Non-Henry doesn't answer and Locke gets angry. He goes out and sits on the beach. Rose renews his faith in the island and he goes back to the hatch and draws a diagram that he's happy with.

Kate and Jack go out in the jungle to the place where they had seen "Mr. Friendly". Michael comes out of the jungle and falls to the ground.
