Celebrating the special accomplishments and challenges of working in theatre (and especially by community theatres large and small) by AACT, AACTFest 2013 returns from June 17-23, 2013. An anticipated annual event within theatre circles, this year’s national AACTFest takes place in Carmel, Indiana, at the Tarkington Theatre (Carmel Performing Arts Center, 3 Center Green, Carmel, Indiana 46032). Best of all, this year's event will include an exhibit that shines the spotlight on the contributions of theatrical designers to productions across the country.

AACTFest 2013 provides a vital and welcome opportunity for community theatre members from across the country (including those from the U.S. Armed Services abroad) at the national event, with the chance to interact, network, engage, inspire, and learn at a variety of helpful workshops, panels, and events. According to AACTFest, more than 600 people are expected to attend this year’s Festival, which will feature top theatre industry vendors, as well as shining the spotlight on twelve of the strongest community theatre productions from state and regional festivals.

The week’s multitude of scheduled industry events will include the Community Theatre Management Conference (continuing throughout the week), AACT meetings, workshops on a variety of helpful business topics (such as Adjudication and more), plus Silent Auctions, exhibits, and an Awards Show to wrap up festivities..

Saluting Designers

The AACTFest 2013 event will also include exhibits from its National Design Exhibit & Competition, which recognizes the crucial contributions of designers to theatrical productions, and spotlights their accomplishments.

The Exhibit will display notable entries from AACT member theatres and their designers, and will take place in the Tarkington Theatre’s expansive upper lobby space.
