Guide Review - Karl's Inn of the Barristers
Karl's Inn of the Barristers is something of a downtown institution. The menu is extremely varied and ranges from breakfast to deli sandwiches to full entrees to Friday fish fries during Lent. Highlights of the menu include the overstuffed corned beef and other deli sandwiches, design-your-own burgers, and the entrees, such as chicken marsala, pork loin a la Barristers, and several steak and veal dishes. The barristers is the first place I've ordered a medium burger in a long time that didn't come out well done. There are also salads, homemade soups, luscious desserts, and pre-game fried appetizers.
The Inn of the Barristers offers a full bar, beer, and limited wine selections. There's only a deli case in the front of the restaurant that sells deli ham, corned beef, pastrami, and other deli meats by the pound.
The service is efficient and friendly and the decor is light-filled and accented with a forest of potted plants.
It's easy to see why this eatery has been so popular for so long.
