Rishikesh, a small town nestled at the foot of the Himalayas, became famous in the West after the holidays Beatles, Mia Farrow and other big stars. Located 200 km from Delhi, Rishikesh, yoga capital is known as the "gateway to the land of the Gods." According to Hindu mythology, it is here that we find the passage that leads to Paradise; this is certainly the entrance in the heart of Spiritual India.

Whatever their nationality, visitors can make a pilgrimage to the temple of Nilkanth, rafting in Brahmapuri, relaxing at Ananda Spa Resort, or meditation in the cave of the sage Vashishta. There's something for every budget: ashrams, hotels or guest houses. The orange robes of Sannyasins (renunciants ...) remind visitors that they are in a holy place.
