The American People Can Be The Real Winners After This Election
It shows that the American way is alive and kicking in a country where a rich man can't come in and buy an election.
A country where a candidate can't lie, flip flop and attempt to scare the people into voting for him.
Americans have displayed the strength of a democracy.
This wasn't a landslide victory by any means but in many ways it was a huge win for Barack Obama despite all odds.
The economy has not recovered as rapidly as expected which put the President in a difficult position in his bid for re-election.
His first debate was horrendous, his base seemed uninterested in voting or so "they" thought.
The "they" being the so called experts who kept telling us for weeks that the democratic base was not as fired up when compared to 4 years ago.
They told us young people would not come out and vote along with Hispanics and African Americans.
Boy were they wrong! Voter suppression attempts backfired on the Republicans who tried implementing everything in the book to prevent high turn out.
It's sad when one side in this country uses third world tactics on the American people in order to try and win an election.
However, those tactics may have been what fired up youth voters and minorities to come out and stand for hours in line to cast their votes! The lies told in rallies and through radio and television ads by Romney and his supporters were more prevalent this election than any other in recent memory.
Those tactics also back fired, a good example is the last minute Jeep ad claiming Chrysler was shipping jobs to China.
In the long run this election may prove to be a positive tipping point for Americans.
Republicans can act as if the world is going to end, as if some way America is now going down the tubes.
Guess what, it is better than 4 years ago and if congress actually works for the American people instead of protecting their political interest it will only get better.
Voters from both parties now need to unite and demand that all politicians work together with the peoples interest front and center.
It's time to support America and not political parties and ideologies.
If politicians feel that the American people have woken up it will change the landscape of government and we may finally get politicians willing to work for the people as it should be instead of working for the richest donor!
