How do I Remove Water Spots From Wood Finishes?
- 1). Preheat your iron on a low setting for several minutes. Turn off the steam.
- 2). Cover the water spot with a thick white towel. Move the iron over the towel for several passes, making sure not to touch the wood with the iron plate.
- 3). Examine the progress of the stain removal by lifting the towel. Repeat Step 2 until you remove the water spots.
- 4). Polish and buff the wood as you normally would.
- 1). Dip a piece of 000 steel wool into wood wax. Rub the water spot gently with the steel wool. If the stain is still visible, move on to Step 2.
- 2). Sand the water spot lightly with a piece of fine sandpaper.
- 3). Fill a small container with mineral spirits. Dip a piece of 00 steel wool into the mineral spirits. Rub the area with the steel wool gently. Allow the wood to dry completely.
