    • 1). Purchase an entry ticket or wristband from the water park's main office. Pay the appropriate fee, plus sales tax if applicable.

    • 2). Ask the attendant about the water park's policy about life jackets. Children younger than a certain age and height may be required to wear a life jacket at all times, which will be provided by the water park. Some of the more intense rides may also require life jackets. Knowing the park's policy can protect you and your children's safety and prevent you from getting in trouble with the park.

    • 3). Go to a locker room and change into your swimming suit. Lock away all valuables and electronics in one of the lockers provided by the water park. You may be required to pay for the locker, keeping all valuables locked up will prevent theft.

    • 4). Walk to the slide you wish to go on. Carefully read all warnings and precautions about the slide to make sure that you or your children are capable of safely going on the slide. Make sure to read how you should go down the slide. The safest way to go down a slide is to go feet-first.

    • 5). Make sure that the slide and the area below the slide are clear of people and children. If you are going to the water park with a child, make sure to go down the slide first and wait for your child at the bottom. Sit down in the slide, and push off.

    • 6). Quickly swim away from the landing area beneath the slide.
