Chicken pox is an airborne disease spread easily through coughing or sneezing of ill individuals or through direct contact with secretions from the rash. A person with chickenpox is infectious from one to five days before the rash appears. The contagious period continues for 4 to 5 days after the appearance of the rash, or until all lesions have crusted over. Immunocompromised patients are probably contagious during the entire period new lesions keep appearing. Crusted lesions are not contagious

Usually mild, chickenpox is highly contagious and can be especially dangerous in pregnant women and people with weakened immune. In children too, chickenpox sometimes leads to serious complications. The most common complications in children are skin super infection may progress to sepsis, impaired neurological and pneumonia.
If your child has a severe headache or signs in the brain 3-6 days after the eruption of buttons, see a doctor immediately.
The Treatment Of Chickenpox
To treat buttons chickenpox, give a bath every day or even twice a day.
Use soap or a washing product containing no antiseptic.
Do not use talcum powder on the buttons!
Do not use on skin product (cream, ointment, gel) containing an antibiotic, an antiviral, an anesthetic or antipruritic. Only chlorhexidine is useful in preventing super infection associated with varicella. To find the right product, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
In case of fever, use only paracetamol. Never aspirin in case of chickenpox or anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)!
