The recession is in full swing and people are losing their jobs or having their hours cut.
These losses are forcing many to rely on government benefits or start a business at home.
In this article I want to discuss 5 business options that you can choose from if you decide to start a business at home.
There are of course more but these are probably the 5 most common.

1. Multi Level Marketing.
   This is probably the most common that people will turn to.
   Joining an established MLM company is one way to earn extra income and there are many that do very well at it.
   After signing up and paying the fee you are expected to buy a certain amount of product each month and recruit others to follow suit.
   
2. Doing On Line Surveys.
   This is becoming increasingly popular as it is deemed to be easy money.
   The problem is there are only so many hours in a day and each day you start afresh.
   
3. Provide a Service.
   Use your existing experience to provide a service from home.
   For example you could do accountancy from home, run a beauty salon or similar.
   In times of hardship luxury services could be dropped so make sure you have a client base.
   
4. Learn a New Skill.
   Find a niche that needs filling in your area and learn what is needed to make money from it.
   This could be anything and might include something like wedding planning, building websites, supplying a dial-a-driver service or any of a number of opportunities that are around us all the time.
   
5. Become an Internet Affiliate Marketer.
   My favourite because it has so much potential and zero downside.
   Costs to get started are minimal (you can start with no money), all you need is a computer and an Internet connection - both now available at your local library.
   The opportunities are limitless and impossible to describe in an article of this nature.
   

In my experience more and more people are turning to the Internet to make some extra funds: and why not? The Internet is still very much in its infancy and everyone is shopping and doing business on line.
I see a huge future for people taking this route.
