It seems as though most of America is more interested in ABC's The Bachelor which seems to perpetuate scandal after scandal. Jake Pavelka is the male star, and recently the show has viewers hooked with the Ali spoiler where she surprisingly leaves the show citing work reasons. Many of us however, aren't sucked into the drama and spend out time thinking about how to build a sustainable and environmentally friendly future. In this article - we take an aside from popular television and talk more about Green transportation, P2P shipping and the future of a new and rapidly growing industry.

If you're thoughtful about the health of the environment you live in, and if you're worried that the planet you will leave for our children may be unliveable and if you are motivated toward doing your part to help preserving Earth - one of the ways could be to utilize "environmentally friendly shipping" for all of your transportation needs. It is one of the clarion calls of the green movement, that one of the biggest polluters and users of non-renewable resources on the planet are the shipping companies and their customers who must all work towards abolishing shipping waste. They urge us to move to replenishable shipping doctrines. Finding "green" options in transportation is thus now a primary concern for all companies interested in reducing their carbon footprint on the face of our home.
Environmentally friendly freight can surround two distinct elements of a shipping operation. The first is the packaging of the package, the other is the shipping of that package. While the packaging industry has been under a lot of pressure primarily from environmental organizations to build green packaging materials and processes, the dispatch companies have had their own ideas. They have also been put under the scanner for maximizing their utility of space, time and gas for each transportation trip.
The most important element of green shipping practices is the eco-friendly packaging of the shipped objects. The essential aspect of utilizingeco-friendly technology in both wrapping and packing is that it assists us to consume less of the non replenishable resources, and perhaps more critical, actually assists us to reuse the material already generated, keeping disposal channels clear. A quick check on the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) website shows that, for the year of 2007, containers for food products and other plastic packaging contributed more than 39% of municipal waste of which about 1/3 was recycled. The worst offenders among non-biodegradable packaging materials can be listed as:
1. Bubble wraps - these are preferentially selected materials for packing fragile consignments. However, alternatives to the offending item have already been discovered such as bubble wrap build from recycled polyethylene. The eco-friendly alternative to these is scrunched up paper.

2. Packing tape - is fabricated from polyethylene and is essential for packing any package for transport. Recently, however, natural rubber packing tapes are available as an eco-friendly option.

3. Packing filters like Styrofoam based packing peanuts - a environmentally friendly choice for them are cornstarch peanuts and/or plain air-popped popcorn.

Corporations across all levels of business are these days interested in minimizing their carbon footprints. The trucking industry is certainly no exception to this rule. They too are thinking of doing their part for the longevity of Earth by trimming shipping inefficiencies. Not only are they streamlining their methods and practices but are in fact funding research to develop newer methods and technologies to generate better possibilities for tomorrow.

Denmark, one of the most advanced maritime countries in the world, is already seeing its top freight companies going green with eco-friendly shipping programs. Sustainable dispatch seems to be the only way forward. Newer, more renewable energy sources should be unearthed and used while more effective streamlinging of load distribution and logistical operation will make certain that more economic, environmentally sound, and sustainable hauling options are available to the consumer.

Peer to Peer transportation is another approach that provides solution for logistical issues by creating a win-win situation for customers, drivers and shipping companies. The drivers get to earn some easy bucks for delivering goods while going their own way and the companies can refrain from hiring expensive shipping space with the discounts being passed on to the customers. Peer to peer shipping is an excellent way of supporting environmentally friendly dispatch by reducing the requirement for expensive carbon footprint fuels. It also usually provides faster delivery times. However it is necessary to confirm that the Peer to Peer shipping company has complete information of the drivers and can provide their photos and phone numbers if requested, as a safety measure

Environmentally friendly hauling businesses are thus extending the stakes to do what they can to construct a sustainable life on Earth.
