How to Upgrade From Symantec Antivirus Corporate Version 10.1 to Endpoint 11
- 1). Determine the number of computers that you need to install Symantec Endpoint 11 on. Each computer requires its own license. Failure to have a valid license for each installation is illegal and may prevent you from accessing your software as necessary. Although this may end up costing thousands of dollars, the damage a virus can do on a corporate server is far greater.
- 2). Visit the Symantec website and install the "trialware." Symantec provides a free month trial for its Endpoint 11 software. For those with doubts about whether the costs are necessary, they can see the software in action. After the 30-day trial period, the software must then be purchased for it to remain functional on your computer. The Symantec website is below in the "References" section. Once at the Symantec Endpoint website, click on the "Endpoint Protection" link in the center of the screen. In the new window, you will need to create an account with an email address, password and some basic information about your business. Once this information is provided, scroll down to the bottom of your screen and click on "Submit." A link will now appear for you to download your trialware of Endpoint 11.
- 3). Experiment with the trial as necessary. You have 30 days to test Symantec's antivirus software. If you choose to uninstall it after 30 days, it will not cost anything. If you choose to continue using it, however, you will need to buy it with a necessary license for each machine you wish to install it on.
- 4). Buy and install Symantec Endpoint 11. On the Symantec website, click on the "Buy" button near the center of the window. You will then be able to choose how many copies of the license you require. For larger quantities of licenses, the price of an individual license goes down. Select the amount you require, and click on the "Add to cart" button. From there, there is a standard web checkout. After completion of the checkout, the download will be available to any machine you wish to download it to, as well as the purchased number of licenses.
