2/11 Superbrawl - Strap Match: Brian Pillman lost to Kevin Sullivan when he called him broke kay fabe and left the ring. Arn Anderson took over Pillman's part of the match but Ric Flair came out to convince both men to stop fighting.
• 4/15 - Involved in a near-fatal car crash
• 11/4 RAW - Fired a gun at Steve Austin when Austin tried to break into his house.

1997
7/9 In Your House - The Hart Foundation beat Steve Austin, Goldust, Ken Shamrock & The Road Warriors
8/3 SummerSlam - Loser Wears a Dress: Goldust beat Brian Pillman
9/7 In Your House - Brian Pillman beat Goldust to win the services of Marlena for 30 days
• 10/5 - Brian was found dead in his hotel room. He died of arteriosclerotic heart disease.
