Facts and Myth About Obesity
When I was doing research for this article, I came across reports stating facts about obese individuals who had failed multiple times by following solid food diets and therefore I have had decided to choose a medifast liquid diet.
The liquid diet basically recommends to limit the calorie intake and keep it in range of 400 to 800 calories per day only by drinking shakes or fruit drinks.
This is to be continued for three months and then individual has to return to a solid diet.
I can understand the point, and how one might assume that consuming just liquids might lead to dramatic results.
However, I can prove from my experience that you can eat plenty of solid foods and still manage to loose large amount of weight, that too safely.
We also try to consume one whole meal "lean and green meal" which consists of substantial amount of lean protein and veggies.
As you can see, my healthy and consistent diet definitely includes solid foods and lots of them as advisable.
In public Oprah has admitted several times that she regrets her decision of following the liquid diet.
Perhaps if she was aware of other options leading to dramatic, yet safe weight loss by consuming solid foods, she would have never opted for the liquid diet.
On the other side of the spectrum alkaline acidic chart, there are also a group of certain foods that are considered to be highly alkaline and when consumed and digested increase the alkalinity of the body.
According to the alkaline diet guidelines proposed, food included in this category are sea salt, lotus root, watermelon, tangerines, sweet potato, lime, pineapple, apples, oranges, seaweed, pumpkin seeds, and lentils.
The list is long, some are listed here to help you to start with.
