The Sebring is a midsize car sold by Chrysler. The Sebring was first introduced in 1995, and the convertible version of the Sebring was released in 1996. After the Sebring gained popularity in the United States, Chrysler produced a European version of the Sebring and released that model in 2001. Sebrings also were sent to both China and Russia. Knowing the design and performance specifications of the 1999 Sebring may help if you are considering purchasing a used Chrysler automobile. - The 1999 Chrysler Sebring engine is a 2.5-liter, V6 front traverse engine. The engine block is cast iron with a light alloy head and overhead cam and contained four valves per cylinder. The Sebring uses a multi-point fuel injection system and produces 163 horsepower at 5,500 rpm. The fuel tank capacity is 16.9 gallons, and it takes unleaded gas.
- The 1999 Sebring features two disc brakes. The car is equipped with a steel spare wheel in the trunk below the carpet. The suspension on the Sebring is sport oriented with a wishbone suspension in the front with a stabilizer bar and independent coil springs. The rear suspension is also a wishbone suspension with independent coil springs.
- The Sebring has colored bumpers in both the front and the rear. The door mirrors are internally adjustable by both the driver and the passenger, and the wipers are intermittently adjustable. The Sebring has front fog lights, halogen bulb twin headlights and a rear-window defroster.
