How to Dance Side Slide

    • 1). Stand tall with your feet hips-width distance apart. Keep your chin level to the floor and your back very straight. Style is what makes this dance move impressive, so don’t hesitate and execute all movements with precision. Point your toes out to a 45-degree angle away from the body.

    • 2). Bend your left knee in the direction that your left foot is pointing. It will be something of a half squat. Lift your left heel off the ground, but leave your toe in place.

    • 3). At the same time, pivot your left toe and right heel so that your feet end up facing inward towards each other. This step and the followingwill probably need the most practice as the dance doesn’t look right if not done correctly.

    • 4). Right now your left leg should be bent and your right leg straight. Quickly pivot so that your right leg bends and your left leg is straight.

    • 5). Stand with your left toe pointed to the left, and your right heel on the floor with your toes pointed towards the left. Your weight should be on your right foot. Use your right foot to push off and slide to the left. Use your left toe to control the speed and direction of the slide so that you don’t fall over or trip.

    • 6). Keep your left foot still and prop your right foot up on your heel. Slide the right foot slowly towards the left foot, keeping the left foot still at all times.

    • 7). After sliding your right foot in to your left, raise your right heel in the air, resting on the ball of the foot. When your feet are back together, you can slide left again, or change to a slide right if the moves are reversed.
