Vet bills can be very expensive though.
Luckily, I discovered a way where you can successfully self-diagnose your pet and save hundreds in unnecessary vet bills! WHAT CAN CAUSE DOG DIARRHEA? One of the most common causes of diarrhea in dogs is intestinal upset.
This can be caused by a sudden change in the type of food you are giving them or by giving them a treat they that are not used to.
Many dog owners make the mistake of giving their dog too many scraps.
If you haven't yet managed to stop your dog begging, that it sometimes seems an easy option to give them food of your plate, which can often cause the diarrhea.
Fatty foods especially can cause diarrhea and vomiting and can also lead to pancreatitis, which is a form of inflammation which can lead to chronic digestion problems.
Diarrhea can also be caused by internal parasites, such as roundworms (often seen in puppies), hookworms, giardia and coccidia.
If your dog's diarrhea lasts more than 48 hours then you should seek professional help.
Most acute diarrhea can be cured with treatment at home.
SO WHAT IS A GOOD HOME DOG DIARRHEA TREATMENT? Ensure that your dog gets plenty of clean water in the first 24 hours and withhold ALL food This will allow your dog's digestive system to settle down.
After 24 hours you can start to give your dog some bland food, such as chicken and rice.
Do this in small portions about 4-5 times a day and this should hopefully clear the diarrhea up.
If the diarrhea subsides, you can start to put your dog back on his ordinary diet.
This will now be an ideal time to get your dog onto an overall healthier diet.
