    • 1). Verify with your state's department of state that your company's name has not been obtained by another company. Be prepared to make changes to the name if it is being used by another company.

    • 2). Inform any board members or owners of the LLC that the company is being reactivated. Ensure they still want to have the same role with the company. Buy out any owners who don't wish to participate in the revived LLC. File an updated Articles of Organization form with your state's state department when applying to reinstate the LLC.

    • 3). Fill out all necessary paperwork requested by your state's state department, such as a Tax Clearance Letter Request for Reinstatement of Tax Forfeitures or a Certificate of Authority, as required by your particular state's state department. Be prepared to pay all fees at the time of filing in order to reactivate your LLC.

    • 4). Check with the state and the Internal Revenue Service to make sure there are no back taxes owed by the company and pay them if they are due. You will not be able to reactivate the company until all taxes are paid.

    • 5). Reactivate or open a new bank account associated with the LLC to keep your business funds separate from your personal funds.
