How to Make a Chrome Brooch
- 1). Line an outdoor workspace with newspaper.
- 2). Clip off the pointy pin parts of the costume jewelry brooches with a pair of craft wire cutters.
- 3). Lay the brooches on the newspaper and spray paint them with chrome spray paint. You will need to spray lightly; to avoid drips, don't spray too much paint on the brooches. Instead, spray paint a light coat and wait a few minutes before spraying a second coat.
- 4). Spray paint a square wood ornament no more than 3 inches wide. You can purchase these thin wood squares from a local craft store; they're often used as holiday tree ornaments. Allow the brooches and the wood square to dry for about 45 minutes.
- 5). Insert a glue stick into the hot glue gun, then plug in the hot glue gun.
- 6). Squeeze glue on the back of the brooches and immediately press them on the wood block. Arrange the brooches in a cluster, if possible. Allow the glue to dry.
- 7). Turn the square over and squeeze a line of glue across the middle back of the square. The line should be about as long as the brooch clasp. Press the brooch clasp in the glue. Allow the glue to dry before pinning the brooch on your clothing.
