Never Worry about Broadband Again with Satellite Internet

While the written word is one of the first things to be transmitted across the world wide web, the fact is that today's forums for expressing oneself and one's interests often cannot be handled with a slower connection. Since the boom in higher speed connections (and the subsequent dropping of dial-up as a service that is used), those designing websites and blogs have gotten into the multimedia game, making it difficult for a page that is supposed to just be about what's happening to load on a computer that isn't using something quicker. For those in rural locales, this might mean a world of frustration when trying to read linked articles and other text-based content that is of interest. But with an upgrade to satellite internet, it becomes possible to take advantage of spectacular broadband capabilities, letting you go where you want on the web. Here are five blogs for reading after making the big switch.

#1 - Nomadic Matt - For those with a bit of wanderlust--or for anyone who wants to learn about how blogging can actually allegedly lead to the quitting of one's day job--it makes sense to check out Nomadic Matt's home on the net. Packed with occasionally insightful tips on the nature of travel and a whole lot of photographs and storytelling the rest of the time, it's a great tool for those who are planning a vacation, dreaming of a relocation, or generally partaking in visions of wishing to be located elsewhere.

#2 - PerezHilton - The little catty blog that could, PerezHilton was once a struggling college graduate barely able to make ends meet--but perfectly capable with the MS Paint "draw" function and sporting a serious wit. While some say that he's gotten too full of himself in recent years, the fact is that his blog, which focuses on the world of celebrities as seen by an outsider, is one of the big success stories out there, with people accessing it everywhere from their satellite internet connections far from Hollywood to their Blackberries right in WeHo.

#3 - Serious Eats - With so many different food blogs out there, picking the right one is as difficult as choosing the perfect place to grab dinner in Manhattan. But as a community of people who actually enjoy and understand food, Serious Eats does a grew job as serving as not just a blog, but a way to connect cooks and foodies from around the world. Definitely worthwhile for aspiring chefs and others.

#4 - The Cool Hunter - So it might count more as an official website or a bonanza in being contented with one's desire to consume, but The Cool Hunter is a must-visit site for those who are on satellite internet or faster and interested in the modern world of stuff. From well-designed cars to exciting bottle openers and hip cuff links, there is everything imaginable that manages to look chic.

#5 - Buenos Aires Photographer. A daily photoblog designed to depict more than just the beef and tango sides of South America's most exciting city might not deliver for everyone, but anyone who appreciates well-done photography (of the analog and digital varieties) will likely find himself a daily visitor. From exciting architecture to more esoteric images, there's a little bit of everything.
